Guided Burro Treks

We offer burro and brewery hikes around the greater Albuquerque area!

Join your guide and naturalist Shane Weigand on a easy-moderate 2-3 hour trek through the beautiful juniper foothills of Sandia Park, New Mexico. Learn about the ecology and history of the area while a loveable burro carries all our jackets, water, and provides unforgettable outting for friends and family.

$125 for up to 4 people. $25 per person for each additional person. Light snacks included. Leave the trailhead at 9:00am or 10:00am and return about noon.
After the hike we can enjoy lunch at Rumor Brewing, a top notch local brewery located right next to the trailhead!

Intro to Burro Packing Clinics Available Upon Request
We are now offering packing clinics for groups or individuals interested in how to pack professionally and safely into the backcountry.
4 hour course includes: Where to find a burro, training, overnight care, equipment required, and hitch tying training. Class is hands on and all equipment is provided. Venue must allow animals outside facility.
$150-$250 depending on group size plus travel fee if more than 1 hour from Albuquerque, NM. Travel fees depend on location.
